Recommended by Wedding Pearls to alter my ‘Mother of the Bride’ dress. I wasn’t disappointed. They did a really great job. I also took my daughter’s wedding dress to be steamed. She had brought it from Singapore and again they did a fabulous job and then packed it really well for us to take up to Scotland for the wedding. Lovely, friendly staff, who really know their job. A special mention should go to Sarah, who took such car with the wedding dress. I will definitely use them again and would wholeheartedly recommend them. Thank you.read more

What can I say, the lovely people who work here are such stars! I made the sad mistake of allowing my grandma's "seamstress" (actually not a seamstress, I later discovered) friend to alter my wedding dress, who did a really terrible job. I thought my dress was beyond saving, especially with about 2 months until my wedding! However, the team at Emms made a huge effort to fit me in, and worked magic - totally saving my dress in the process and restoring my confidence and excitement to wear it. I was so happy with my experience here - they listen to and meet your tailoring needs with real excellence and professionalism. What a lovely team of experts! My mum shops for wool ALL the time at Emms so I found out about the alterations service through Sam. I bought a custom wedding dress from abroad and Sarah was ready to 'drop everything' in order to get my last minute alterations done. She did a lovely job of making my skirt fit like a dream and even packed all my wedding clothes for me in a case ready to fly with. Could not have asked for a better service. The guys at Emms are fabulous. Every time I’ve been in they’ve been super helpful, even taking in my Belle dress last minute! nothing has been a problem and they do everything within their power and beyond to make sure you get what you need on time. Excellent Service! Completely altered my Mother Of the Groom dress for my sons Wedding. Being disabled on Crutches, my dresses become far too long at the front & shorter at the back when I walk.? Caroline was able to modify my dress to be just above calf length at the front with a bit of a train at the back when I stood up straight which became completely level all the way round when I walked using my crutches.
